Easter in Alexandria

On the base of the newly discovered historical evidence comprising materials from the French archives and from the 19th century Greek press was analyzed the ethnic conflict between Greeks and Jews in Alexandria in 1881. The article reveals the variety of factors that provoked the outrage against the Jewish community emphasizing the significance of emotions as a factor in understanding of this event.
